The System Evaluation Services will help you to evaluate the merits and faults of your trading system. The service will provide an objective and non-biased opinion on the validity and potential of your proposed trading method. A detailed understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of your system could substantially improve the profitability of your trading and help you to avoid costly mistakes in real-time trading.

Basic System Evaluation

You provide us with the code and a description of the logic and your specific goals. We will backtest the system over historical data and provide a comprehensive report about the historical performance, statistical information, and detailed analysis of the potential strengths and weaknesses of the system. You will received an evaluation report including the following:

A written report containing vital statistical information about the historical performance of your system.

Charts of various performance results, including a hypothetical equity curve of the system performance over historical data.

Narrative report discussing the implications and significance of the statistical analysis results and their potential impact on your real-time trading.

Interpretation of the logic of the trading rules and the parameters selected.

Analysis of potential strengths and weaknesses of the system which can significantly impact real-time trading. Search for potential flaws in the logic that might cause the system to “blow up” in real time trading.

Suggest areas of possible improvement based on your specific trading goals and objectives.

Practical suggestions for implementation in real time trading including suggestions on proper capitalization.

The Basic System Evaluation package costs $250 for the evaluation of one system in one market. Optionally, portfolio studies can be performed for the system at an additional cost of $125 per additional market required.

Advanced System Evaluation

The Advanced System Evaluation service includes all the reports of the Basic Evaluation Service, plus additional studies and reports to help you design the best system possible based on your goals and trading preferences. The Advanced System Evaluation includes a thorough optimization of all your system parameters, plus specific recommendations on how you can improve your system’s performance based on custom modifications and enhancements to the entry or exit strategies.

The package includes all of the Basic Evaluation reports plus:

Full optimization of system parameters and suggestions for the selection of the most robust parameters.

Provide additional evaluation data: including probability of ruin tables showing hypothetical probability distribution of various sized drawdowns.

Perform a thorough analysis of each rule in the system to verify and validate its function and importance. The impact of each rule on the overall performance of the system will be analysed.

Suggest specific improvements to the entry and exit strategies to help meet your system objectives, based on the best entry and exit strategies that we are aware of in the industry today.

Troubleshoot your system if you have been having problems, and isolate the cause of the problem and propose a solution.

The Advanced System Evaluation costs $1,000 for the detailed evaluation of one system in one market. Additional portfolio studies can be performed for the system for an additional cost of $500 per additional market required.

Customized System Development

In addition to system evaluation, we provide many levels of individual consulting to help you develop the systems that you need, based on your requirements and trading goals. Systems can be developed starting from scratch or starting from an existing system idea that interests you. We can also provide real time support when the system is actually traded, including a customized money management and portfolio management strategy based on your individual trading objectives. We have worked with CTAs, hedge funds, banks and other institutions. All work is confidential and your ideas and systems will not be revealed. Call us to discuss your specific system trading development requirements, and we will give you specific details on how we can improve your systems and trading, including a firm quote on how much the services will cost.

Customized Programming Services

Coding of your trading system into a computer language is the essential step before you can backtest and evaluate any trading strategy. If you have not coded or programmed your system, we can provide programming services based on Omega Research products. Costs will vary depending on the time required and the complexity of the project. If you can provide us with detailed and specific rules of your system in English, we will program your systems into Omega EasyLanguage to run on any version of TradeStation or SuperCharts. We can also provide coding for customized PaintBars or ShowMe studies based on your indicators, and develop custom User Functions based on your indicators to simplify your programming tasks. Programming fees are $125 per hour with a minimum of $250 per project. We will provide estimates on the fees before any work is begun.
